Love letter to myself

I just got off a coaching call with one of my clients where we were talking about self love. Self love is not just massages and facials, although that it lovely. It is getting to the heart of who you are and embracing it. It is letting go of the layers of programming that are not you, unlearning, so that you can love and appreciate who you are and who you are becoming.

A few years back one of my coaches got me to write a love letter to myself, including talking about my appearance. It was hard writing, but reading over it again to my client I realised how special it was, so I’m sharing it with you. One of my greatest wishes is that we could all realise how valuable and special we are, and act out of that. Love ourselves and others knowing that we are valuable. Maybe I could challenge you to write your own love letter. Or even go through my 14 days of self love challenge. You won’t come out the other side unchanged!

Here is my letter…

Hey lovely Erin

You’re incredible, I wish you believed that! I think of all the things you’ve done and I’m blown away. I know you know all this but just pause for a moment and really let it sink in… You’ve survived a divorce, something I know you thought would break you. You’ve finished a degree, you slayed that dragon! I know it was hard but you stuck with it and came out with fantastic grades. I’m SO proud of you! After a series of bad relationships you put in the work and have the most amazing husband who loves you dearly and is completely committed to you. He loves you! You can trust it. Believe it. Let it settle into your soul. You built a beautiful house and your determination and willingness to sacrifice is inspiring. I love your vision!!

If that’s not enough have a read of some of the things the bible says about you - you are fearfully and wonderfully made, you are a princess, you are worthy, you are forgiven, you are valuable, God is with you and has good plans for you.

Erin you are so beautiful. I love the way your hair falls over your shoulders, your eyes are emerald pools, I love your cute button nose and your soft lips. Your gorgeous curves, wow! I love the way you wriggle with excitement, just like little Siyah (my labrador).

Lovely one, I know failure scares you, and I know you know this in your head, but believe it in your heart, failure is part of the process. It is part of growth. You dont need to fear it, embrace it, learn to love it, learn from it and I just know you will reach heights you could never have imagined if you do. You dont need to let it define you, but you can let it refine you and fuel your growth.

I love your bravery, your courage, your determination. I love your willingness to get stuck in and work hard. I love the way you can connect with others and leave them feeling good about themselves.

My darling, you have said it said to you so often and I’m going to say it again, please be kind to yourself. Know that you are human and to be human means making mistakes. That doesn’t ever mean you are a mistake. Forgive yourself for not being perfect. Perfection if overrated and boring :P

Love you girl. Believe in yourself like so many others believe in you and the world is your oyster.

Always yours

xxx
