Can Energy Healing Be from God? A Christian Perspective on the Emotion Code and Body Code
As a follower of Jesus and someone who has personally experienced the power of emotional and physical healing, I’ve wrestled with how tools like the Emotion Code and Body Code fit into a life of faith. These modalities—based on identifying and releasing trapped emotions and energy imbalances—might sound “woo-woo” at first. I definitely disregarded it the first time I heard of it. But when explored through a biblical lens, they can actually deepen our understanding of God’s incredible design and His desire for wholeness in every part of us.
Let me share why I believe energy healing can absolutely be part of God’s work in our lives—when approached with discernment, humility, and faith.
We Are Made of Energy—By Design
Before we even get to Scripture, let’s start with science. Your body is made of energy. Not in a mystical way—in a scientific way. At the most basic level, our bodies are made of atoms—tiny particles that are in constant motion. Within the atoms are subatomic particles that have an energetic charge. Because of these, every cell, tissue, and organ vibrates at a certain frequency. Emotions, too, carry energy. Ever had a lump in your throat when trying not to cry? Butterflies in your stomach before a big event? That’s your body feeling your emotions. That’s why we can feel when someone is angry or joyful—energy is communicated through tone, posture, and presence.
Modern physics and biology affirm that we are energetic beings, and the Bible supports that we are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). So, if God made us this way, is it so strange to believe that healing could come through working with energy—especially when it’s done in partnership with the Holy Spirit?
God Cares About Our Whole Being
“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
—1 Thessalonians 5:23
God didn’t just create our spirits—He formed our bodies and souls, and He cares deeply for every part of us. Western medicine is good at looking at the body part of our being, but almost completely disregarding the rest of our created parts. The Emotion Code and Body Code aren’t about replacing God’s healing power; they’re tools that can support it by helping us identify and release emotional baggage that we’re unknowingly carrying.
When you experience emotional pain, trauma, or stress, and these are unprocessed, it can create energetic imbalances in your system. If they remain unprocessed, they can an lodge in our bodies and disrupt our physical and emotional well-being, showing up as anxiety, fatigue, tension, or even physical symptoms like pain and dis-ease. But with God’s help, they can be released.
Healing Is Part of Our Calling
“And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.”
—Matthew 10:1
Healing and deliverance weren’t just things Jesus did—they’re part of the mission He gave to His disciples. We are called to partner with Him in bringing restoration, hope, and healing to the world.
“He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.”
—Luke 9:2
Whether that healing comes through prayer, medical support, or energy work guided by the Holy Spirit, it’s all under God’s authority. Jesus didn’t limit healing to one method—He used touch, words, even mud and spit. The point was never the method—it was the faith, the intention, and the source.
The Holy Spirit Is Our Guide
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit… will teach you all things.”
—John 14:26
When using tools like the Emotion Code or Body Code, I always invite the Holy Spirit into the process. I ask God to highlight what needs healing, to reveal root causes, and to bring peace and freedom. I’m not trusting in the method—I’m trusting in the Maker.
God Is the Source of All Good Healing
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights.”
—James 1:17
If healing, peace, and emotional release come through a session—whether through prayer, a counseling conversation, or energy healing—it’s a gift from God. I always give Him the glory.
A Final Thought
Not everything labeled “energy work” is rooted in truth or aligned with God. That’s why discernment is so important. But when something brings greater alignment with God’s peace, love, and design—when it breaks strongholds, heals trauma, and frees us to live more fully—I believe it can be used for His glory.
The Emotion Code and Body Code are simply tools. They aren’t magic, and they aren’t new-age shortcuts. They’re ways to gently partner with how God designed the universe and our bodies to heal—and to invite His Spirit into the deeper places of our being.
If you’ve ever wondered, “Can a Christian use energy healing?” my answer is: Yes—but do it with God, for God, and through God.
